Bright Philly & Screen Printing

This was such a beautiful day to be in Philadelphia. Spring has sprung.

These are all prints that I made from a photography. They are all based off the same screen print, but some of the patterns have activated backgrounds.

A detail of that one:
A sheer light green silk printed with two color dye, unregistered.
A two layered print - off-white on white - cotton, shibori-ed silk

Similar, white on gray shibori-ed silk
A detail of that print:

Another color-way, this time turned upside down. It creates a completely different feeling.

EXCITING DAY!

I have some great news to share-

To start, my family is adding a new member come July and I will be an Aunt once more! Hooray!

Secondly, starting Thursday March 28th and running until April 12th I am showing in an exhibit in the Goldie Paley Gallery at Moore College of Art & Design. The show includes eleven of my photographs and three photography-inspired print designs. The exhibition is part of a Junior Travel Fellowship competition. I will learn on April 11th if I receive funding to travel across northern California this summer. If you will be in the area and would like to know more information about the show, please let me know.

Lastly, I just received confirmation that I will be assisting the designers in the bedding department at Target this summer in Minneapolis for a ten-week paid internship! I am very excited for this opportunity and the chance to live in a brand new city for a few months!

So for those of you who regularly hear or see me, this might explain so of why I have been missing in action as of late.

Rucci Weavings and a Day in Queens

The first three images are of a semi-transparent block double weave I am working on that is inspired By Ralph Rucci. The rest of the photos are from a day in Queens where we visited PS1's W.A.C.K. exhibit, a sculpture center, the most amazing graffiti building I've ever seen and some more fun sites.
