Inside Day

Today was more of an indoor day.

When I did venture out, I wound my 36 foot warp for a sculpture I'm working on. The sculpture will be a hand dyed wool woven felted mountain that has been cut in thirds revealing the layers of the earth.

I also took some photographs of samples I've woven.
The hairy looking weave includes two color ways of a shag rug sample. The black, white & red weave are experiments with creating my own treddling sequences in combination with different tie-ups. The blue & golden one is a honey-comb weave sample where I played with colors.

Colorful Fall Drizzle

The colors on my walk to school are so vibrant and energizing. I always smile when I see those iron swirly foot scrapers. My neighborhood has so much history.

my mission in the blogging world

I created this blog to fuel my inspiration. I carry my camera around with me every day anyways, so why not use it! Since thinking about making this blog I've already taken a great deal of photos. This will be my virtual sketchbook.

These photos are some of my everyday visuals now living in the city. Philadelphia can be so beautiful.
